Looking for a job in the UAE?
Internet job sites have been around for nearly a decade now, and they’re widely used by job hunters, with several million people going online to hunt for jobs every day.
New Job site in UAE which I came across recently www.careertunity.com which is very unique. There are lots of jobs posted on the website for UAE jobseekers, straight to employment opportunities in their specialised field.
Three tips for getting the most out of the job sites.
1) Localize your Search
2) Use the Extra Features
3) Follow up on your Application
Free Resume writing Tips:
With employers receiving hundreds of resumes you must make sure that your resume hooks an employer's attention within a five second glance. A great way to do this is to use job titles and skill headings that relate to and match the jobs you want.
- Use Bulleted Sentences - Use Titles or Headings That Match The Jobs You Want
- Create Content That Sells- If your resume is scanned electronically, the computer will pick up on the words. You read correctly, some companies now scan in your resume, and have computers pull those that meet certain criteria. The computers are looking for one thing - they are looking for keywords that have been picked by the hiring manager
- Target Your Resumes and Cover Letters- Highlight your strengths, and what is most relevant to the potential employer. In-coming resumes are typically reviewed in 10-30 seconds, so put forth the effort and determine which bullets most strongly support your job search objective.
- Make sure to use the right keywords- Most companies (even smaller ones) are already using digital databases to search for candidates. These keywords will usually be nouns. Check the job description and related job ads for a clue on what the employer might be looking for.
- Avoid negativity- Do not include information that might sound negative in the eyes of the employer. This is valid both to your resume and to interviews. You don’t need to include, for instance, things that you hated about your last company.
- Keep the salary in mind- The image you will create with your resume must match the salary and responsibility level that you are aiming for.
